Which are the necessary steps for a correct wallpaper installation?

We hereby summarise the basic instructions for a correct installation:

Paper based vinyl wallcoverings

Surface: Must be dry, even, sound, firm, clean, absorbent.

Preparation: Remember to allow for the pattern repeat. Wallpaper to be unrolled in one direction only. Before cutting, check wallpaper lengths for any shade or colour variation and ensure yourself that all rolls are from the same run.

Paste: Use a high-quality clear non-staining, fungicidally-protected vinyl adhesive mixed to manufacturers specification.

Pasting: Paste lengths generously and evenly, fold over and then roll up. Soaking time approx. 10 min. Ensure that all lengths are left to soak for the same period of time!

Hanging: Double check that all the rolls belong to the same run. Apply wallpaper, butt Joint, using a soft smoothing brush or Roller, if necessary finish off with conical seam Roller. Remove surplus paste by dabbing with a damp sponge or clean cloth. Do not rub. Avoid excessive heat or draughts while the paper is drying.
